How manufacturers fund growth: grants, SR&ED, tax credits, and financing, coordinated.

Most providers handle one program. Belmark builds the full stack and the strategy that connects them.

SR&ED

For Canadian-controlled private corporations, SR&ED returns a 35% refundable credit on qualified expenditures, up to a $6 million annual limit (up to $2.1 million a year), and 15% above it. Federal legislation now in force, applying to tax years beginning on or after December 16, 2024, raised the limit and restored capital equipment as an eligible expenditure. We structure each claim to the rules in force for the applicable year.

  • Technical eligibility assessment tied to your project scope
  • Documentation aligned with CRA expectations
  • Coordination with grants and capital funding timelines

Government Grants

Competitive programs that provide upfront or milestone-based funding for defined project outcomes. Timing and application quality are critical.

  • IRAP, FedDev, and provincial manufacturing programs
  • Application preparation and submission management
  • Government correspondence and follow-up

Investment Tax Credits

The Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit returns 15% on qualifying buildings, machinery, and equipment, up to $3 million a year, for CCPCs with an Ontario permanent establishment. The Clean Technology Manufacturing ITC returns up to 30% on eligible clean technology manufacturing and processing property.

  • OMMITC and Clean Tech ITC alignment
  • Project structuring to maximize eligible spend
  • Integration with grant and SR&ED strategy

Financing

When grants and credits are not sufficient or timing requires bridge capital, Belmark helps coordinate financing alongside your funding strategy.

  • Asset-backed and project-based financing options
  • Alignment with approval timelines and drawdown schedules
  • Strategy that connects non-dilutive funding with capital needs

The Coordinated Strategy

Individual programs are tools. The strategy is what determines outcomes. Belmark maps your project against every applicable source, then sequences applications, documentation, and claims so they reinforce each other rather than conflict.

1

Map

Identify every grant, credit, and financing option tied to your project.

2

Sequence

Align timelines, documentation, and submissions across programs.

3

Execute

Prepare, submit, and support claims through approval and receipt.
