About Belmark

Built for decisions that do not fit neatly into one advisory category.

Belmark is an advisory firm for Canadian manufacturers making significant funding, modernization, and business decisions. We connect the technical, financial, and implementation considerations that are too often handled separately, helping management make better-informed decisions before capital is committed.

Why Belmark exists

Important decisions are often divided among advisers who see only one part of them.

A grant consultant may understand the program. An equipment vendor understands the solution. A lender considers the financing. Management remains responsible for determining whether the pieces fit together. Belmark was created to connect those decisions before commitments are made.

Understand the operation

Determine what the business is trying to improve and what technical or operating constraints affect the decision.

Test the economics

Evaluate the costs, expected benefits, funding, financing, and risks against the same business case.

Plan the execution

Translate the preferred direction into a practical sequence of decisions, responsibilities, and next steps.

The principal

Moses Odemuyiwa, P.Eng., PMP

Moses founded Belmark to help Canadian manufacturers navigate decisions that cross technical, financial, and operational lines.

His experience spans engineering, infrastructure and transaction advisory, financial modelling, project delivery, technology development, and executive leadership. He began his career supporting critical infrastructure projects before advising government agencies, private corporations, and investors on capital projects and infrastructure transactions at a Big Four professional services firm, where he later served as Chief of Staff. He subsequently built and led a technology company while developing the foundation for Belmark.

Moses holds a Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and Project Management Professional.

His engineering, finance, and execution experience shapes Belmark's first-principles approach: understand the operation, test the business case, identify and mitigate material risks, and map a practical path from decision to execution.

Our principles

Principles for decisions that carry real consequences.

Capital investments and strategic decisions require clear assumptions, defensible evidence and an adviser willing to test the preferred answer. These principles shape every Belmark engagement.

Clarity before activity

We define the decision, constraints and required evidence before producing applications, models or recommendations.

Evidence over optimism

Potential benefits are assessed against the available facts. Assumptions are identified, sensitivities are tested and uncertainty remains visible.

Central principle

Advice before advocacy

Our responsibility is to improve the client's decision, even when that means recommending a different sequence, a smaller investment or no application at all.

Integration over handoffs

Technical, financial and implementation considerations remain connected throughout the assignment.

Build client capability

Clients should retain useful models, decision materials and operating frameworks, not just receive a completed submission.

Our focus

Built around the realities of Canadian manufacturing.

Belmark works primarily with owner-led and privately held manufacturers making meaningful investments in capacity, productivity, technology, product development or market expansion.

One coordinated business case

Three practices connected around the same decision.

Belmark's practices address different parts of a manufacturer's investment and growth agenda. Each can be engaged independently. When the questions overlap, they are coordinated around one business case.
